Kyle Stalnaker is the son of a former Air Force pilot and step-son of a Coast Guard Doctor. As a result, he has lived in over eight different states, but has called Florida his home state for over 20 years, as most of his family lives in Destin. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Kyle received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in December of 2010, and was admitted to practice in 2012.
While attending UC Berkeley, Kyle played midfielder on the University’s lacrosse team, and was elected captain for the 2005—2006 season. During law school, Kyle interned in Tampa with the University Community Hospital’s in-house counsel (now Florida Hospital, Tampa Bay Division) and in St. Petersburg with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Bay Pines Office of Regional Counsel. Upon graduating from Stetson Law, Kyle was awarded the William F. Blews Award for exceptional pro bono service, where many of his pro bono hours came from assisting Teen Court at the Criminal Justice Center in Clearwater, Florida.
Kyle’s main areas of focus at Mackey Law Group has recently been family law, civil litigation, and personal injury. He, like the others in the firm, is not an office lawyer; but, capable of trying a case from beginning to end. During the last few years Kyle has represented family law clients in high profile complex matters. Part of his successful representation of clients is Kyle’s ability to quickly get a case through the court system to conclusion. Once at trial, there are few attorneys that can stand up to Kyle in court.
Kyle currently resides in Bradenton and is still actively involved in lacrosse, as a player and coach with Sarasota’s Performance Lacrosse league. Kyle also is the director of legal affairs for SRQ Lax, Inc.; a non-profit organization created to evolve Bradenton and Sarasota high school lacrosse club teams into FHSAA varsity teams. He enjoys surfing, snowboarding, weightlifting, and traveling. Professionally, Kyle has also been a member of the Manatee American Inns of Court since its inception in 2014.
